Google's business listing shows hours and a photo or two, but nothing about machine size, so there's no way to tell from a map search whether a laundromat has the oversized washers you need for a comforter or a load of shop rags. Every laundromat on this page has large-capacity machines confirmed from its own website, equipment list, or posted signage, not assumed from the shop's size.

Call ahead and ask for the largest machine's capacity in pounds, not just "extra-large." A comforter or a couple of sleeping bags generally needs a machine in the 40-pound-plus range to wash properly without matting the fill, and it's a quick way to avoid driving over only to find the biggest washer is already taken.

Good to know

What size laundromat machine do I need for a comforter or bedspread?

A queen or king comforter usually needs at least a 40-pound-capacity machine to have room to agitate properly and rinse out all the detergent. Stuffing it into a standard 20-pound home-size washer at a laundromat can leave it damp and unevenly cleaned.

Do laundromats have machines big enough for rugs or dog beds?

Many laundromats with large-capacity machines can handle smaller area rugs and pet bedding, though very thick or rubber-backed rugs are sometimes restricted since they can damage machines or clog drains. It's worth calling ahead to confirm the shop allows that specific item before you show up.

Are laundromats open 24/7?

While many locations operate standard daytime hours, select self-service laundromats offer round-the-clock service. Across West Virginia, you can explore 7 local laundromats to find facilities that accommodate 24/7 access.

Does a laundromat take credit cards?

Modern self-service laundromats increasingly accept credit cards, debit cards, and mobile app payments alongside traditional quarters. Throughout West Virginia, our catalog features 7 laundromats, allowing you to check equipment details and preferred payment methods.
